Prayers from St Beunos
Rainbow God Rock Chapel Prayer 4th July 19
Rainbow God
Creator of the deep blues of the sea and the colours of the
sunset.
God of the sparrows chirp and the cows moo
God of all people made in your image and likeness;
Trans and straight, black and white,
Child and aged.
You are the God of all
And I can call your names:
Yahweh, Creator, Redeemer, Sustainer
I AM
And you, you the God of all
Gently call my name,
With words of love
With tones of tenderness
Calling me,
Calling me,
Drawing me closer
Unfolding your perfect promises
Revealing your holy will.
Reminding me of your faithfulness.
Rainbow God of covenant promise
You love and mercy gush and pour out in creation
Pour out your grace in me this day.
Unlock
Unlock my heart to love you,
Unlock my mind to know you.
Unlock my soul to live in you.
Open the depths of my being to the depths of yours.
Unlock me
Unlock me, source of my being
Unlock my head,
my heart,
my gut,
my all!
Unfurl your good purposes,
pour out your grace.
Not more of you and less of me
but
more of you to bring me to the full.
A Modern Magnificat (of sorts)
Tell out my soul,
Tell out God’s goodness and love.
Proclaim God’s justice and liberty,
tell of God’s faithfulness from generation to generation.
Tell of the stories of God’s people;
faithful and failing
generous and jealous
wondering and questioning.
Tell of God's people
whose lives become hard places of barren wilderness,
of daily struggle
of desert and desolation.
Yet tell too of the story of grace
Of the love beyond measure
Of a father’s embrace, of a mother’s enfolding.
Tell of forgiveness which cleanses and heals.
Tell of the fruits, of gifts and of blessings.
Tell out, tell out...
Let the story continue
Let 'good news' be shared
From generation to generation
May the peoples praise you O God!
